Current Position:

I started teaching 7th and 8th grade Pre-algebra and Algebra I at Okmulgee Middle School in August 2008.  During my time at Okmulgee Middle School I have taught 7th and 8th grades Pre-Algebra, 6th grade Math, 8th grade Algebra I (for high school credit), Math/Reading Intervention, STEM, and Personal Financial Literacy.  I try to make myself available to students for extra help by getting to school by 7:30 and staying until 4:00 most days.

Previous Position:

I spent 4 years as a teachers assistant for Jenks Three Year Old Preschool through the Community Education Program and worked at both Central Campus Mayo Building and Southeast Elementary.

My first teaching assignment was Kindergarten in August 2005 at Jenks West Elementary.

I spent the next two years at Jenks Middle School working as a long-term substitute teacher where I taught 7th grade math, 7th grade Language Arts, Computer classes, speech/debate and an entire semester of Drama.  While covering 7th grade math and language arts it was my job to create the lesson plans and input grades into the online gradebook just like the regular classroom teacher.

Family Information:

I was raised in the Tulsa area.  I went to school at Tulsa Public Schools for Kindergarten through 5th grade, Jenks Middle School for 6th and 7th grades, Union Middle School for 8th and 9th grades, and Catoosa High School from 10th grade through graduation in May, 1983.  I married my husband, John, in June 1983.  Together we have lived in Broken Arrow and Tulsa, OK along with four years in Springfield, Missouri.  We have a 25 year old daughter who attended Jenks Public Schools and is currently taking classes at Tulsa Community College; and a son who is 39 that lives in Indianapolis, IN with his wife and three kids.  We have lived in Jenks for 21 years.
