My name is Candi Padfield and I am an Algebra 1, Intermediate Algebra, Math of Finance, and Geometry teacher at Okmulgee High School. I also coach fastpitch and slowpitch softball. I am beginning my 5th year at Okmulgee, but I am beginning my 15th year of teaching.
My husband, Will and I have been blessed with five beautiful children and a adventurous granddaughter. We are looking forward to an exciting year. We are in the process of buying a house here in Okmulgee, so we can say that we are taking root right here in the neighborhood. We will have a daughter graduating from college this coming winter with a degree Horology, from OSU-IT. We have a son in the Air Force, a daughter who is working on her communications degree at UCO in Edmond, a son who works for Michelin in Ardmore, and another son that is in high school. We have a very busy family and very proud of all of them.
I have attended a few trainings this summer in hopes to bring to more to the students and make learning more engaging for them as well as put them more in charge of what they learn. They should be the drivers of their education not a passenger. Between the new ideas and the new resources that will be implemented this year, I hope to accomplish that.
I am looking forward to an outstanding year not just academically but socially and athletically. Stap on your seat belts, it will be a bumpy ride. See you August 6th.
